Welcome

Welcome to Cwm Derwen Riding Club website

CDRC is a small and friendly riding club mainly covering south Pembrokeshire and west Carmarthenshire. It is affiliated to the British Riding Clubs, which is part of the British Horse Society.

The main aim of the club is to provide a relaxed, friendly atmosphere for people to learn and have fun in.

If you like to ride for the sheer pleasure and fun of it then please come along. We don't expect to take ourselves too seriously, but we look forward to some enjoyable and rewarding times ahead.

We have regular social events, clinics, rallies, pleasure rides and member only shows. Member-only shows provide an excellent chance to have a go, without the added pressure of competing against strangers and well established competitors. We use a variety of venues including Moor Farm, Furzehill Farm, Hazelwell House and Hafod Farm – benefiting from surfaced schools and other facilities.

Jane is our website manager and is more than happy to take articles, photos, items/horses for sale and wanted ads. If you have been to one of CDRC events it would be lovely if you could do a write up for the website – who knows, you could encourage others to have a go too! Jane endeavours to update the website weekly. This website is for you the members, so please feel free to get in touch if you have any comments, critique or helpful tips. email Jane on

Message from the Chairman – Carolyn

Well, the weather is beginning to warm up; it's great to get the equines out of their winter rugs. Rallies have been held at Hafod and Furzehill, all very capably run by Penni Jones.

Some of us are counting down the days to when we are off to Tregoyd Trekking Centre. With full days of riding where we will see some beautiful scenery and seem to be miles away from civilisation.

We are still looking for volunteers who know of some off road riding for some pleasure rides, please contact Quita if you have any information.

Come join us in 2009 to have fun, enjoy your horse and the company of likeminded people’. You will be most welcome.

Kick on,

Carolyn
